Hey guys, as I wait for my rims I was thinking about the possible new traction and my use of the trans brake on the rear end. Should I be getting worried about my 10bolt anytime soon? Is it time for Axles or other mods to help it live?

Currently I have a True trac, a Moser diff cover with bearing support, arp studs on the bearing caps, and run Lucas 80-90w swapping fluid every 6k or so. Thoughts?

Foose, people have used rearends like ours to go 8's granted they were prolly 1000# lighter than us but still...
I'm going to put a spool or mini spool in mine and maybe some axels and see how fast I can go.

At this point you're possibly in axle breaking territory with that transbrake and all that tire. I'd consider some Yukon axles, they're plenty strong and can be had for about $120ea.... Have you pulled one out and looked at the splines?

7.5" backspace seems like too much, theres only 8.5" from the wheel mounting surface to the leaf spring.

Silver, I have not pulled one out. Would I be looking for signs of twisting or? The yukons made of something different?

Blown I won't be home till Thursday, but I want to say my foose wheels have 6.5 bs and I had 3 inches to the leafs. They are 9.5 inch wide, so I went one more inch in, and a half inch toward the fender to give me a 11inch rim.

All I'm coming up with over at Rons is these axles.. Are they worth the upgrade? Any other sources/info on the yukons?

Go with the Yukons.. I was dumping the clutch at 5500 and pulling the right wheel about 3 inch's and never broke one in the Gibbs truck..5.13 gears.
