Default new shift kit and converter, now problems.

I just put my truck back together and went for a test drive. I had no reverse. It also seemed to slip real bad up to 3000 rpms and if I tried reving higher then that it didn't feel like the truck wanted to accelerate at all. It also seemed like it was popping into neutral at times. Any Ideas? I'm going to go pull the pan and check everything out.

I just dropped my pan, the regulator valve was laying in the pan. Would this be the cause of all my problems? Also I remember putting this together and putting it back in. But now I can't find the bumper spring or the snap ring. Were could these of gone?

Its a spring, it could have gone anywere. Surely you have a magnet in the bottom of your pan? I'd check that. If its not there it could be hangen out inside the tranny some where.
And yes. If everything isn't put together a transmission will act like that.

I fond a check ball was in the wrong spot. The one by the reverse piston. I checked all over for the spring and the snap ring, I still can't find them. I looked in all the old tranny parts and found the little orange spring. At least I think it is the correct orange spring. It looks like it fits. Was there a factory orange spring that looked the same? Also were could the snap ring of gone? Is it safe to put it back together with a new snap ring?
