Well, this has got me to thinking though. I know on my truck with just the 2" shackles and a set of spring clamps on the front side of the spring pack, the spring clamps brought the truck down about another 1/4" in the rear. I have heard people say that theirs rides rough with just one set, but I don't notice it any in mine.
I would love to bring the rear of the truck down another 1" in the rear or so, but don't want to mess with the hangers. I have thought about adding a second set of clamps to the rear of the spring pack, but everyone that has done this has said it was rough as hell, but what about instead of putting the clamps on the front side, put them to the rear of the spring pack instead? Seems like there is more travel on the rear side anyway, so it might help to bring the rear down another 1/2" or so, but not make the ride quite as unbearable. LoL. Just wondering if anyone has tried this or not.

Yeah, most of us originally put the clamps on for just wheel hop prevention. I actually had a set on my old crew cab and they helped with the traction quite a bit so I did them on this truck too. Like said, a little bit of lower is a bonus feature. But I have also noticed a nicer ride with mine, I like the little firmer suspension feel with them, feels a little more secure and that the rear is actually under ya if that makes any sense.

Makes total sense to me. I have the shackle and spring clamp combo as well and I think it helped some with traction and a little more positive rear end feel. Minmal lowering effect with just one set on each side on the front of the spring pack.

I don't think it rides bad at all, in fact I think it rides better than stock. But I know others who didn't like it at all and took them off. Most of these had a shackle and hanger combo in the rear already though. So that might make a difference.

Well, I am going to guinee pig for just putting a set of spring clamps on the rear of the spring pack versus the front and see what happens. I will let you guys know how it rides, take measurements on the drop if any and pull a few launches on my super secret staging lane to see about traction and wheel hop.
