Default new too trucks. need suspension help.

im about to buy a 07 silverado with a 5.3 and 2wd extended cab. ive always owned camaros and want to make my truck handle a little better. so i need to know what parts i need to lower it and make it handle good. so shocks, sway bars, springs (i guess i have torsion and leafs). do they make aftermarket torsions?

You can check Sway-A-Way to see if they have torsions for your truck. 2"drop spindles for the front, shackles and hangars will get the rear down 4". Anti-sway set will help roll.
My truck handles pretty damn good with the drop.

if you want it to handle a little sportier, than check out one of the sponsores for the hotchkis tvs kit. it comes with everything to lower it & comes with new front & rear sway bars.

if i had to do it over again i would go 4/6 spindles and flip kit to retain the factory ride. if i had a single cab i woulda already ripped out my stuff and went with this setup but 4/6 is just too low for an ecsb where i drive.

I agree. I've always heard great things about the Hotchkis TVS system. I really like this system because you're only replacing the rear leaf springs to lower the rear of the truck, therefore you still use your stock hangers and shackles. Most drop systems make you replace the hangers and shackles which requires you to drill out the rivets on the stock hangers. If you plan on hauling or towing with your truck, I would also highly recommend a c-notch in your frame....even on a 2/4 drop.
