The 555r is what I ordered from them but the II came instead so I assumed they are not making just 555r anymore. If you look at there site it says it get better 60ft than the nt05, so I don’t know where your getting your info from

i'm getting it from their site as well as personal experience researching/buying the last few sets of road race tires for my car & from other friends who have researched & driven on their own sets.
i think the disconnect here is that different letter designations actually mean different things, i.e., NT05 ≠ NT05R and NT555 ≠ NT555R ≠ NT555Rii.
each of these are performance tires in their own rites, however, they have different compound & construction properties.

- NT555 is a decent street performance tire
- NT05 is a grippier street tire
- NT555R is a street-legal drag radial
- NT05R is an even stickier street-legal drag radial that trades some wet traction for dry compared to the 555R
- NT555Rii is similar to the 555R but combines some of the properties with the NT05R & reinforces the sidewalls, which gives it better lateral g tolerances. and apparently, they've redesigned them recently for better straight-line performance, too.
