no 3rd when warm
first I was getting 1870 code no lockup when warm what I found was a badly cracked foward clutch piston {plastic} I replaced that along with the 1-2 piston with trans go pieces and also put a transgo seperator plate.I drilled the plate to the superior specs because I have a superior kit and vette servo. Now I'm back to shifting solid and the lockup clutch works perfect but when it warms up it will skip 3rd gear and go right from 2nd to 4th.2nd gear feed I drilled to .082 3rd gear is .109 4th is .096.Can someone give me some pointers I was thinking of putting the stock sep plate to see what that does I don't want to get too far off base and cause other problums

In D3 it does shift to 3rd nice and firm, what does the stiffer spring {purple in the superior kit} in the foward clutch accumulator do I'm thinking of swapping the stock one back in also I bought another trans go sep plate ansd might try to just drill the 2nd gear to .070 and leave the other holes alone as per instructions with the plate it shifts a little too firm for me now that I'm not bleeding pressure off and I have a stock convertor.

Sounds like your band is not releasing when going to 3rd gear from 2nd. What happens is the 3-4 clutch comes on and the band is still applied in your case. Which in the grand scheme of things is 4th gear. You have a cross leak or a cut seal some where causing your issue. The purple spring you are referring to will only reduce the forward clutch apply accumulation. This is not your problem nor the separator plate. I would look for a bad vb/case gasket or cut/folded seal on your servos. Just a guess. Best of luck. Vince

This wound up being the 3rd accumulator capsule
I have since rebuilt the trans myself and pulled the capsule and used a cup plug
I put a reman traiblazer convertor in I think the trucks should have came stock with this convertor
All is good now exept for my transfer case leak-it never ends
