After spending $3K ON A LOCAL built transmission. I could have gotted a stage six 60e from FLT for about the same price. Check out FLT, they will work with you.

If I had a 60e go down on me I would do one of two things. Call FLT because you know it will be the best and be done right with the best support or do it myself. Being that I'm so tight I squeak worse then the tin man prior to his lube job I would probably cheap out and rebuild it myself. Like anything you get what you pay for.

The converter wouldn't lock at cruising speeds for a while then o/d just quit and 3rd started slipping I was trying to make it home and third died some I put it in 2nd and that did for a few miles then it died about 50yds from my house 1st went out and I coasted into the driveway then pulled it in the garage with the lawnmower where it has set since for 3weeks.. Performabuilt should be here next week

Just by looking at the site it seems that you do not get 5 pinion planets in the 4l65e transmission. Also I do not see a sleeved input drum in this unit. Both of which I think are required for the kind of HP #'s they advertise. The build list is kind of weak IMO. They say they use the superior shift kit then mention how they update the separator plate and valve body. Isn't that apart of the shift kit? Whats a super pump? Maybe they install the PR spring that comes in the shift kit. Says direct/reverse drum......the band drum is called a reverse input drum. It has nothing to do with the direct clutch. Keep in mind a direct clutch is 3rd gear. In the 4l60e this is the 3-4 clutch that is found in the input drum. I don not believe this monster direct drum is new because they just list the drum and do not specify new. The modified sun gears is where they take a grinder and grind slots in the gears. Old school marketing with the sun gears here not a problem in the 4l60e. I do not see any mention on what clutches they use. Are they new or reused ones?

Looks to be well marketed but the build list IMO does not tell me what you are actually getting. Do a search on them to find some more feedback. From what I have read I would not go this route. Then again my opinion is biased and I know what FLT does hands down. Vince

I've heard of them, think that I've seen them on TV...as Vince mentioned, seems like a well marketed company, but I don't have any feedback about the product. Just from looking at the website, doesn't seem like they upgrade a whole lot, and the 60E is a "monster" that needs upgrading, even behind a mild combo.

What are your plans for the truck? Bigger cubes, boost, heads and cam? I can't stress how good the customer service was that I received from FLT, and if you check their website you'll see that they offer quite a few different build levels, depending on your setup and budget. Talk to Andy or Vince and ask about the "bud/blu" plan if you don't have all of the dough up front...as mentioned, they will work with you.

Plans for the truck would at least to throw a cam in it, if not then upgrade to 6.0 at least. If I'm going to do the tranny might as well do it right for future plans. Getting some good feedback about FLT. Hows that FLT Level7 feel budhayes3?

I spoke with monster transmission techs on the phone, they are kind of clueless.
