Default nobody says much about brakes....

I just ordered a set of drill/slot brembo rotors and bought a set of real good pads for them and plan on draining all the brake fluid out of the system and putting fresh in when I do the upgrade. The only thing I dont have in hand is a set of braided hoses. I want to do it right and make this thing stop as good as it goes now. I got kind of nervous coming up behind someone the other day after doing triple digits. -plus, these are the factory brakes and they have right at 90K on them... its time for some better hardware.
-where can I get the braided stainless hoses at???

cool thanks... I wonder if I can have some made locally for cheaper... there are some places here that make braided hoses for pretty much everything.

Thanks... he's a sponsor on gmfs. I PM'd him there. 20$ a hose would be fine with me... nothing over that though really.

What kind of pads are you going with? I'm needing to do an upgrade soon since its a little hard to stop these 20's and 31" tires sometimes.

I got the best Bendix pads for the stock calipers. Hawk pads are nice too but a litte pricey for me... powerslots and good pads make a world of difference.. I just came on a good deal for some brembo rotors. I was going to do powerslots.

You could get a set of stainless steel braided teflon hose made up, but they are DOT regulated and might not take the abuse (suspension flex). Why save $30-40, if one hose fails it will cost you a whole new front end. The last time I check, I think a front end cost more than $30.

I am not going to skimp out just for 40 bucks... but if there's a 75$ difference because of paying someone else's overhead then I'll pass. Last time I checked the Russell hoses are DOT approved and I dont think so many people would run them on all-out race vehicles if they were prone to blow out. I dont plan on having ones made up... it was just a thought.
