noise in bell housing
it sounds like a playing card in my bicycle spokes... I done know what it is, it changes with RPM and volume increases and decreases sometimes... I am stumped, and I dont want to take this thing back apart again unless I absolutely have to... it still runs and drives fine, just makes a noise.

yep... new FLT-5 and PI converter... I had a problem with the converter going in because of the bolts but I thought I solved that... I am thinking I have a cracked flexplate.... I'm not sure... I'd like to know where to look once I do go back in it.

any vibrations?
it only sounds like its one side of the plate though. or one bolt... I guess It'll be going back on the lift Wednesday when the shop opens up.
The first time I heard it I was going down the freeway next to a tall barrier and heard the noise coming off the wall... it sounded terrible... as soon as I lifted off the gas though it went away. and it just kinda comes and goes...

Ben, I'm guessing it's your flexplate. Especially since all your teeth are no longer in tact. I'm surpirsed you haven't had slips with your starter starting yet.... or have you?

Damn Ben
If you really dont want to pull the trans then pull the starter and make sure the TC bolts are tight.
