Default ??? Is this normal..free rev then hard grab 1st gear

Ok so i was in the city today getting on the interstate to head towards home. Doin 35mph and stomp on it to get up to speed in a jiffy right.
Well it downshifts free revs to i think around 5k rpms or so then grabs all of a sudden melts the tires for a second then hits second and keeps spinning. So the up to speed fast didn't work except for my back tires.

wELL i never noticed it free rev to a rpm in first gear other than take offs before so i was like WTF....tried it at 30mph and it did the same thing.
Free revs grabs drops a fee hundred rpms or least it seems as if it does then spins and hits second so on .
25mph no free rev when it drops it instead instantly smokes the tires...just drops to first rpms rise and tires spin all in one motion.
Where as at higher speeds it free revs then grabs.....?
So whats the deal? It seems to do the free rev then grab at around 25mph + when dropping back into first from a roll.....

Tranny is a FLT lvl5 65E with less than 3k miles on it and the stall is a Yank PT3200 roughly 10k miles.
I had the stall in before the FLT unit and i never noticed it do this before?
Any ideas....

so what do you think it is?
I did have it do this ONCE a week or so ago. Just thought it was a blip or something. Put it down at about 38 and it touched the limiter for a 1/4 of a second i guess then grabbed like crazy....is this tranny or stall?

None, it's been like this since i got the new tranny put in. I drove it for about 4-5 days and it never did this. Then i let my GF start driving it cause she drives 7miles to work and 7 miles home....where i drive about 100miles a day and the gas is too high...so i roll the RCSB to work in.
This is the second time i drove it in about 3 weeks i guess. I drove it to the store about 15 min drive and it did the touch rev limiter for a second then grabbed that one time but didn't do it again.
Then i drove it today and confirmed something is up basically.....
all settings are the same everything is as it was.

Checked it the last time i drove it and it was fine....guess i'll check it again but it will have to wait till morning. Kids are asleep and the truck will wake em up if i let it run out there for a while to warm up and so on.

Also the truck is perfectly fine in all other gears and so on. Only fudged up when dropping back into first at 25+ mph....

I don't know for sure but there is talk that if the upshift/downshift tables are screwed the trans will get confused on a downshift. At the same mph/throttle position the upshift speed must be higher than the downshift speed.

Just grasping here.

I will check but i think my upshift speed is 47mph and my highest downshift is 41mph....
I'm gonna go check trans fluid and connections right now and see if i can turn up anything....
