Default now it's time to start hooking up

I'v just completed a bunch of mods, basically bolt ons along with a shift kit and tune. I have the stock g80 and 3.23s. The truck definitely has a lot more power. Before the engine would bog a little before accelerating. Now, I pretty much will do a big burnout before taking off. While smoking the tires can be fun, I'd wager that my acceleration times are no better or perhaps even slower than when my truck was stock. I'd like to focus on the suspension before I build more power. I'm sure my tires are a weak link and that would prolly be the first upgrade.

after that, what mods should I do and in what order?
I was thinking of getting some 16" rims with lower diameter drag radials which would effectively give me better gearing at the track, yet still allow decent MPGs on thehighway with the street tires.I'd like to do caltracs after that. When finances permit, an upgrade to a true trac and eithert 3.73 or 4.10 gears. does this sound like a good game plan?

Last question, do you guys remove your tailgat, spare and trailer receiver before going to the track to shed some Lbs? or does that extra weight help with traction in the rear?

thanks again

If you can hook with all that stuff removed, it will run quicker lighter. If traction is an issue, you might leave some of it on. With dr's though, you should hook with all of it removed.

Does anyone know how to calculate what effective gear ratio (or advantage acceleration wise") so to speak I will have going to a 26" drag radial over the stock diameter tire. I have 3.23s

There are some effectivegear ratio calculators online, It will likely be like having a 3.73 with stock height tires
