Default OBS 14 bolt with 99-04 disc? Spacer thickness?

So here's what I have going on, I've put a 14 bolt SF rear end from a 92 into my 91 project truck and am planning to use 99-04 rear disc brakes but as some of you know the backing plate has to be spaced outward from the original location. I've seen a few spacers that guys have had machined but I can't find much info on the dimensions, some say 2.25" thickness others say 2.375". I already have my backing plates and calipers for the mock up just waiting on pads. I'm sure my best bet will be to just put everything in place and measure but I want to make sure my measurments end up in the ballpark of what others have done.

Sounds like you answered your own question. Mock it up and verify.

According to this guy 2.25 is the magic number. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-489403/page2/

I did mine differently. See EvilGMC Build https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...thread-467473/

Can I buy the weld on flanges online?

When I mock it up should the inner or outer pad be against the rotor? I just got the calipers today and don't have any experience with the newer type.

No, I had them custom made.

Make sure the rotors are sitting on the flanges of the axles correctly first and that they are tight. Then Center the brakes up like any other set of calipers.

Well I bought some pads and bolts today then got everything mocked up and it would seem I need a 2.60" spacer not really close to what others have used. Then I noticed my pads only contact half the rotor so it seems I've mismatched my brake parts, 08 Escalade calipers and 2000ish rotors. I'm guessing the escalade uses larger diameter rotors are Escalade rotors also thicker? if so that should throw of the measurement right? Seems I need Escalade rotors or 99-04 calipers. Anyone know if there is a difference in the caliper brackets? if so will using a 99-04 caliper bracket move the Esky caliper down on the rotor?

Yes the rotors are different. The calipers are also different so I don't believe it would just be as easy as swapping the brackets. I would recommend useing the correct rotor with the correct caliper and bracket.

looking at photos of the two brackets there does seem to be a difference. I'm going to take mine to a part store and compare them, if it works it will be the cheaper option if not I'll just throw more money at it until it works out.

The calipers are physically different. The newer ones have a larger piston and may not contact the pads for the older style correctly. They may also sit different on the older cages.
