-98-02 F body T56 will bolt right in.
-I'd recommend the LS7 clutch assembly. You can get the PP, disc and LS2 flywheel for less than $500. It is stout. I love mine and i've tried a few.
-Mcleod now makes a shifter relocation kit that moves the shifter to the front accessory hole and I believe the shifter attatchment for a 67 camaro is the most forward mounting i've seen. This will get you close to the factory hole though i've never measured exactly how close. If you use the factory T56 mounting location it will interfere with the cup holders if I remember correctly.
-You will need a custom driveshaft made as well as a yoke of the TH350/4L60e style. Your 5 speed uses the larger TH400/4L80e yoke.
-5 speed Crossmemeber needs no modifications. Trans mount fits right in.
-factory truck master cyl. works fine just mate it up to a 01-02 F body slave for best performance. You have to take the quick connect coupling off the f-body slave and put the truck hyd line directly on the slave using the roll pin.
-You will need at least a 4.56 or higher numerical gear for this tranny gearing to work (depending on tire size and engine torque) Your 5 speed has around a 4.02:1 first gear and the T56 has a 2.66:1 first. Besides the 6th will be too low to pull well and worthless up hills.
Oh, and mine was an original 4.8 5 speed.

hmm well ive had the truck up to at least 80 and the speedo doesnt move. i have two plugs with a purp/blk wire and a grn/blk wire. and one plug with a grn wire and a yellow wire. ive tried them all, and i got nothing. is there anywhere online that has wire diagrams? the VSS plug is the one on the tailshaft area below the shifter and reverse wire plug correct?
my t56 has 4 plugs on it. one where the shifter is, one where the forward shifter would be, one on the pasenger side kinda in the middle, and the one on the driver's side at the very back, under the shifter....
any ideas?

For a 4wd truck you can do the NV4500 5-Spd from the 1500-2500 trucks OR you could do like I did, the ZF6 6-spd from the 3500 Diesel and 2500 8.1L in my truck!
