For anyone using a GTO M12 T56 in their NBS Silverado 1500 you will need to us the F-body shifter to make it come through the center console correctly. To use the F-body shifter you will need to replace the GTO "shifter cup" with an F-body one..
Here is some info...
"All you've got to do is knock that little roll pin out of the shifter cup where its meets the shift rail and replace it with one from an fbody. The fbody one puts the shifter back up where you want it. If you don't have a spare shifter cup I think you can get a new one for $25-35."
Parts needed to put an F-body shifter on a GTO trans:
The Tremec number is:
Shifter offset lever 1386-098-016
I had to grab a spare from thegearbox.org for about $27
You'll probably need the bushing also, 1352-127-009
OR CALL.....
The only place I know of to get one, right off the top of my head, is six speeds inc but they're hard to get ahold of at the moment due to the hurricane. If you look through these threads you can find the owner's cell phone number and contact them.
Here's a thread that shows the differences between the fbody and gto shifter cup.

Some parts are I bought specifically because I used a GTO trans, they should all be italicized.
Hopefully this consolidates all the info in the previous pages....PM me if you have any Questions.

Forgot to mention....I have not done the wiring yet but you can get away with leaving the "black box" on the side of your 4L60E plugged in and plug your VSS (two wire plug) from the 60E into the tail housing of the T56 to have your speedo work... Here is a link to the wiring diagram if you want to have reverse lights and do the rest of the wiring...Hope all this info helps because it took me a LONG TIME to find it all...
4L60E to T56 wiring diagram link....

Note: I am not sure if it is right, or right for all NBS trucks because I personally haven't tried it...yet

word to wise. the stock pedal assembly is a bad design. if you put any type of stiff clutch in your truck. you will push your master thru the firewall. this is my 2nd pedal that just broke. i had to be towed home cause the square hole busted out. bfore you do this swap reinforce the opening or else stock up in these pedal assmeblys

There is no difference in tooth count for any LS1/LS2/LS7 flywheel and all the starters also have the same tooth count.
