Thanks Bill hopefully someone with useful information can be helpful.
I did research outside of the forum the ls1 slave and 4.3 slave prior to 01 is exactly the same down to part number. The only difference from mine to that style is mine is all plastic. and has the very long line to the stock Master cylinder. Since oddly enough sunday my slave cylinder blew out on my truck. The one for my truck is about 150 bux and the ls1 is 80. I am going to buy an ls1 slave and change the line over save myself 70 bux

I think your mpg gain will vary some depending on your truck's mods, weight and driving characteristics. Post your truck and mods in your signature so we can help.

Alright guys...i have read that on the 4.8 trucks factory with the five speed the rear of output of the crankshaft has different lenghts? Does anybody have any information on this. Im asking this to figure out when i go to put my t56 in will i have any issues with clearance? My truck is an 02' model

The best I recall is 99-00 had ~3/4" longer crank to work with the gen1 style trans and clutch. Your 02 should be fine but not 100%. I did the 5 speed swap. search my posts in this thread.
