Interesting, that's the first I've heard of that. It's always the small things that are overlooked. Thanks Ed!

Anyone notice an increase or decrease in fuel economy with the 6-speed?

Just finished my NV3500 > T56 a few weeks ago. Seems like at least a couple more mpg's

Though got a question. I read in this LONG thread that the only fix for the cruise to function in 6th is install the 4L60E speedo reluctor wheel ??

I've played with the cruise apply table with HPtuners but did not help.

No, it isn't, I have one in my truck. And you don't have to change the tailshaft housing. It's the same as the f-body's. Maybe you're thinking of the T56 that is in the corvette's? Coming from a 5-speed truck, I just slid in a driveshaft from an A4 truck and called it a day.

I did install an f-body shifter cup so I could use f-body shifters, but that is such a no brainer. The stock GTO trans has an offset shifter cup so the shifter sits further back.

I can get about 1-2 more on the highway putting me at about 22-23 mpg with a bolt-on 4.8. With 4.30's, 30" tall tire, and a .57 6th gear I'm running around 1700rpm at 65mph.

But in all honesty, my city mileage is shot to **** cause the truck is just so damn fun to drive. I can hardly keep my foot outta it just running around on surface streets.
