Default One more lowering Q....................

THanks for putting up with me. As I've mentioned countless times that I wanna drop my truck to look like a 2wd, maybe a litle lower, probably a little lower via yanking the blocks out the rear and decranking the bars upfront, I realize that I may hafta go a little lower than the first thought 1- 1.5". So, in an epiphany- I wonder about Silverado SS keys; say, how high does the SS sit anyways; bumper height. I measured 14" from the ground to bottome of my front bumper and thought going down to around 11" would be fine for clearance.............

Thanks.

Just do the spindles up front and take out the rear blocks, you'll thank me later. Decranking the torsions more than an inch or so (all the keys do is re-index the torsions) will make for a real spongy ride.

I lost my blocks and backed the torsion bar adjustment down with good luck. You don't want to cut too much off the bump stop if you turn the torsion bars down, the soft ride will come from that.

Thanks guys, been thinking on spindles alot lately, but with spindles, wouldn't I need also to goa different LCA? With this spicle topic, can someone please explain what it does and the necessity of a different spindle- I trying to understand. I think I have a slight idea that the spindle is shorter and the upper control arm then sits lower, or am I all wrong.....................

no, you use your stock lca's. The spindle relocates the wheel 2" higher without changing the geometry (too much).

you could do what i did: for the rear i took out the blocks and put on 2" shackles. up front i decranked my keys all the way. it sits at 2wd height with shackles, give or take a half inch.

Yeah- that does look good, Kevin- how does it ride? I was thinkin' of getting some foam filled bump stops upfront instead of S10 ZQ8 bumpstops. Any recommendations on Who's spindles to go with? I kinda like Belltechs...................

Edit- looks like I'm gonna need 17" wheels for the Belltechs, something I'm not crazy about....................
