Default Opinions on cutting drop springs

I KNOW I DRIVE A DODGE AND THIS IS THE GM SUSPENSION SECTION BUT THERE IS NO ACTIVITY FOR DODGE ON HERE.

I HAVE A 2/4.5 DROP NOW AND JUST PURCHASED THESE WHEELS AND I CAN DROP IT 2 MORE INCHES IN THE FRONT BY CUTTING THE SPRINGS AND GETTING A ALINGMENT.

1 COIL= 1INCH.....RIGHT?

WHATS YA OPINION I JUST DONT WANT TO ADD SPINDLES THAT WEIGH 20-25LBS MORE THAN STOCK SPINDLES

i've always been taught NEVER to cut coils, but there are many people who do. i have spindles on my truck with drop springs and i've got just the stance i want. i'm pretty sure it is coil for inch on GM trucks but have no personal experience with dodge trucks.

thanks its just so much of a hassle with spindles. in order to make 17s fit you have to do some cutting and grinding to make the rim fit with a aftermarket spindle and then they are expensive. im looking for just 1 inch in the front cause it seems to sit a little higher than the back

Heating is terrible, but cutting is not bad for a couple inches... My silverado dropped 3" in the front with one full coil cut.

As long as you use a saw and not a torch the springs will be fine.
And for the drop you can cut a little and then re-install until you get the drop you want. It will take forever but you shouldn't overdue it.

I cut about 1/4 coil off some stock springs for a 1" drop.
