These 2 quotes are definitely mechanical advantage. Like a 6L doesn't need to work as hard as as 5.3 to accomplish same task. Less tip in.

Fastcount, u really got me wantin 3.73s now.

my truck gets up and goes just fine with the 30.5" tires and 3.42s with the 2.47 first gear of the 80E hauling 10,000#..
It gets up & goes cause of that turbo too.

I think going go a lower gear you're going to hurt yourself more than help, because you'll be that much farther out of the powerband. I think what happened with my cam/head swap is I opened up the powerband and I'm now further into it while going down the highway.
While u may've gone up 2.5 MPG w/. heads & cam, I wouldn't expect a stall to do that.

See, I only wanted a little more so I installed a cam... 2-3 years later I've installed gears, headers, beefed tranny, tune, even a supercharger

The best (or worst) part? I don't see the end of the tunnel as the "need" of a larger engine has crossed my mind
U think "need" things like a larger engine too, huh? Pullies, spray & / or a larger engine.
And yes, I have thought of cubes, but other mods 1st.

Ok what do yall think

New cam vinci 210/218 .584/.584 on 116lsa mpg Lsa right here

Next 3.73 gears. What brand posi? Tur trac?

When the transmission has to get rebuilt put a trail blazer 2600 stall in

Got a p/n on that cam or link? It's a 210/218, called the "080" grind, "Ultra Torque", right? Verify / measure clearance, check w/. the right people, cause u also have those 1.8 RR in there. Get your supporting cast - good springs & pushrods too.

If I didn't have my present cam, I'd likely have a Vinci cam, perhaps for me...
DUR @ .050" 216*/ 224*
LIFT .551/.551
LSA 115*
I like the specs of his cams I looked at before. Also, the Z06 & GT2-3 (a.w.a. some other LPE cams are nice).

I like what u lined up there for choices.

The posi is an Eaton Posi. Detroit Truetrac.
That will divide people on this site as to which diff is best. Both are fine choices.

That 2600TB stall, is that what CircleD rates their TB stall at?

[QUOTE=Camin00;5023390]Sorry its .550 lift = 1.8 rockers will be at .584 lift
I got a killer deal on dual lunati .660 valve springs a lil over kill but if I ever decide to port and polish heads and go with a larger lift cam the springs will work out.

I bought the 212/218 on 14 low lift but called roger and he talked me into the 080 cam lol so I sold the 212/218 to a buddy for $300 lost $60 but I think this cam is like a twist comp 212/218 aimed more towards low end tq with slightly better fuel economy

I guess for the posi I will choose the cheaper one of the two lol

Honestly I dont know the details of a stall besides size and stall rate somebody else would be able to tell you more about them. Im sure the tb2600 stall and circle d are pretty close to the same performance. I think the 3000 stalls are to much for a dd with my small choice of cam. The cam will work fine with a stock stall. I hardly ever take the truck above 2000 rpms besides getting on the highway so from my point of view why get such a huge stall for my driving habits

I think the LS6 cam is a good budget cam for turbo set ups but not worth the trouble of install on N/A motor. Plus an average of 15-30 low end rwtq is lost and replaced by 20-30rwhp up top. From what roger was telling me these trucks are so heavy and if its a dd hp shouldn't even be looked at just build it to squeeze the most tq out of the lil 5.3L bore as possible < FOR DD not street strip applications.

The best street strip cam from vinci would be the 216/224 .550/.550 on 115Lsa and its awesome with a superchargers. Great stage build cam

I kinda figured u already did the math for the rocker change since most smaller VHP cams are either .551 /.551 or .585 /.585, but I had yet to do math myself. And VHP cams seem to be $420 on sale. How'd u score for $360?

Here ya go, reworked TB stall from CircleD $400, avail. from 2600-3200 stall. U pick, so u could do the 2600-2800 1A version of it. The 2A is the 300-3200.
http://www.circledspecialties.com/p-...-ii-278mm.aspx

BTW, 2600 is what I wanted Chris to stall my Billet unit I got from CircleD at, so don't think u are only 1 that wants MPG's too.

TXSZ66, u guys are killin me, tellin me bout better MPG w/. 3.73!
I'm really jonesing for 3.73 now after various people in this thread said they picked up mileage. City is what I do mostly too.
Whatda I gotta do, go get some 3.73s?

I got the comp cam 212/218 on 114 for $360 bought it from a shop that was going out of business

I got the vinci cam for around $420 shipped So I guess really I lost $180 for the change but to me personally Its worth it since right now I plan on doing only 1 cam swap, so I want the most I can possible get out of one.
