Really, the daily driving aspect of the converter is determined by the converter size, not stall speed. IMO, tighter converters are better for DD. Like Chris said above, the 278 would be a good fit. Everyone will argue and it really is personal preference. I have a 9.5" converter and daily drive it. It is way too loose IMO but I might like it better if I put gears back in my truck.
I can post a pic of how loose the converter is if you would like to see.

I have a 3000 rpm converter, and it flashes to about 3300 when accelerating on the interstate on-ramp. If I could do it over I would go with a 2600 because if you want to keep up with traffic, etc your rpms will constantly be above 2800. I have bigger tires and 4wd which may affect converter flash rpm but I find it a little annoying with a loud exhaust.
Keep in mind with a 4L60 the converter will unlock anytime you take your foot off the gas, so on the interstate if you're in traffic and constantly on/off the gas, your rpms will shoot up fairly high when trying to keep up with traffic until the converter locks again. I've been driving the truck for over a year with the converter and couldn't be happier, just wish I would have gone a little smaller.

Tuner is aware of this happening. It's only common with the truck OS. It was suggested to try a GTO OS for the TCM but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm sure the 4wd system would freak out if I put a car OS in anyway.
