Default Opinions wanted

I just swapped my spring/spindle 4" drop for uca/lca djm front drop. I was told it was for a 4" drop, but it looks to be a 3" drop. I have a 6" flip kit out back. I like the way a 3" drop rides over a 4" around my area, but the 4/6 "looks" better. Question is, would you....
1. put a 1" drop coil in?
2. cut the stock coil an inch?
3. raise the back up an inch with a lift shackle?

I like the LCA ride over the old spindle/spring setup. I had a mcgaughys 1" spring on my old 3" drop, but the 2" hotchkis spring on the 4" drop was too hard and I hated the ride. Thanks

If you got the money I would buy the springs! If not then just cut 1 inch off the springs in there now! I installed 2" springs and 2" spindles on a 93 rcsb that I have and a 6" flip kit on the rear and when I sat it down the front still seemed to sit high....at first i thought maybe I installed the springs upside down...lol...but I didnt and so I took them out and cut a inch and a half off the beltech springs to get the height that I wanted! I used a cut off wheel, not a torch...lol! Hope that helped!

when I took my drop coils out and cut my stock coils, it rode 100x better. I cut one full coil to drop 3", so you might start with half or less.

cut it off the bottom of the coil right? the top is flat so it sits in the top flush. It rides so much better than any thing i have had so far. stock coil is where it is at.

I'd raise the rear up.... If you like the front, leave it alone IMO

i believe it was the bottom, and then just rotate it so it sits in the groove.

I cut my from the bottom and did the same as far as rotating it into the groove!

I do like it, but I dont think 1" will make a diff. It did not on the old 3/4 from 2/4. I think its all in the spring. I used a mcgaughys 1" that rode nice, and made the truck handle better in the corners. I think i need to see how my 15x10" centerlines are gonna fit in the current stance before I make a final decision. I dont want them to hit the bed cause they will stick out past the bed on a 28/10.5/15 M/T slick.

I would cut the front spring before you consider buying a drop spring. Every drop spring I've had always rode like ****.

I agree, I went back and searched tons of old threads where Ben, and Lance, and Skeet and others had done their coils, even David. i think it would be better to just cut 1/4 to 1/2 coil off, with about 1" more on the passenger side to fix any lean.
