Default Ordered the Fuddle Converter Today

My TCI went out on me after my track outing friday night so I decided to go with a fuddle like I originally planned. I liked my 3000 stall but I wanted a little bit more so I went with a 3400 with a 2.2 str. I chose a fuddle cause I can still TOW with a 3400 stall that is amazing I havent heard of a company that would really be willing to stand behind their converter with towing on that high of a stall. Good thing I have a 40,000GCVW tranny cooler. I will be getting it in the beginning of next week and I will keep everyone updated and take some pics of it and the install. On a side note anyone want to buy a TCI 3000 to send in and get rebuilt PM if you are interested.

Cody

Cool. I think you'll like it. I'm starting to get used to mine now. Do you tow heavy loads on a regular basis?

I tow all the time. As soon as I get it in Im towing a 9500# travel trailer he said the only concern was heat but I think I got that convered with the cooler than I have so Im not worried baout that. I will thoroughly test it out with the nitrous and offroad adventures for sure.

I am going to be waiting to hear your results from that high stall and towing.I would have to believe the fuddle company knows what they are doing but I cant imagine the trans staying cool with that much slippage with that kind of weight.I can see where it will not over heat while towing as long as the converter stays locked but they dont always stay locked, especially with a load pulling a grade. Do you have many hills that you will be pulling?Temp gauge? I pull a lot,and have long steep grades,my 2400 yank feels plenty loose with a maxed load.Vig.recommends no more than 2100 stall when towing.I hope fuddle warrentys your trans if it frys it.I sound skeptical but I hope it works for you.Good luck.

I haven't towed anything yet but the mechanic that installed mine, took one look and said that it has twice as much clutch area as a stock one. That is the same thing that John said and that is for towing... IF that doesn't nake since, sorry, I'm drunk

Yes a large clutch area is great for holding the clutch on when applied, but what happends when its not applied ? On a hard pull, you know the lock up isnt always on.Hey the guys building these are smarter than I so lets wait and see what happends.

Cool, I should be ordering mine next month after I get the Eaton and 4.10's installed. I gotta remember to pick up one of those 40,000GVW trans coolers too Cody. Did that thing mount up pretty easily using supplied brackets?

Took all of 20 min to install since I already had the grille off just some tubing cutters and the brackets supplied worked just fine. I think I will be fine as far as cooling goes cause with the TCI the highest it evrey got towing was probably around 185 going up in the hills and mountains of tennessee pulling 6200#s I think thats what killed it. It should be hear next wed or thurs Ill be pulling the tranny this weekend. Im really getting tiresd of pulling this transmission. This will be the third time.
