Ordered the Fuddle Converter Today

Got the t-case out, driveshafts, exhaust and all the electrical connections now the fun begins(tc bolts and dropping the tranny). My converter should be here by wed or thurs.

Nope luckily it didnt I pulled the tranny plug and drained it through a coffee filter and no metal shavings came out so I think Im good Im going to go ahead and change the filter on the tranny though just for good measure.

Yup I was explaining the symptoms to my tranny guy and he told me the rest and told me the problem before I even finished explaining. I trust his judgement since he has been in the business for 30 years. The transmission only made noise in a drive gear and he said that was the tc. And also on the way hnome from the track it didnt want to lock up for **** I had to drive about 35 miles home on the highway and it locked up twice and thats it. It has been on its way out for the last few weeks and it finally gave up. Why do you know soemthing to the contrary? I thought I would find some metal too but luckily I didnt seems odd to me too.

No metal is amazing.You could take the TCI to your tranny guy,drain it the best you can and shake it,if it sounds like a bag of dimes then yes.Or your tranny guy can use a set of snap ring pliers into the hub,expand them in order to grab the stator and by turning it he can feel for the right tention.Take it to him before you install the new one,or have the TCI cut open locally or send it back to TCI to find out before you fire up the new Fuddle.Just a suggestion.
