overload spring

Default overload spring

In your opinion is it ok to remove the overload spring to get the one more inch i need in the rear. if it gives axle wrap cant I put traction bars on

I did it and wouldn't recommend it. It gives an inch but the axle wrap was terrible. I ended up putting it back in. Traction bars might help I guess but for what traction bars cost you could just get a set of drop hangers that would give you a choice of 1 or 2 in. of drop.

try some spring clamp's it lowered mine almost 1in

I forgot about the spring clamps. I went from no overload to putting the overload back in with the clamps but it only lowered my truck maybe 1/2 in. I only put them on the front of the spring pack though; thought it would ride too rough front and rear.

Auto Zone. Its just a u-bolt of sorts that clamps the overload to the main spring pack. Costs like $10 for a pair to do both sides.
