LAST CALL...where did you get those bumpstops? truck looks super clean

You need to remove the ubolts and lower that axle away from the leaf pack, then get a pair of vise grips on the bottom side of the bolt to keep it from spinning, and you will be able to take the nut off.

Sorry to bring up this semi-old thread. Did you, or anyone else, ever experience any axle wrap after removing the overload spring? I don't have caltracs yet, but i was thinking about removing mine to give me a bit more drop in the rear, but i don't want to create any wheel hop.

You will create wheel hop and axle wrap. Leave the overload in until you get a traction aid.

+1 - I had significant wheel hop when I removed mine.
