This is a newer name to me; hadn't heard of it before PT. Care to explain where they got their reputation?

getonit, if bluecajun5.3 ran a p/b of 12.3 or 12.4 swapping from yank 3600(I think) to a circle-d. What were prevoius times?...[/QUOTE]

To me, if a builder says Circle D, it counts for something.

I first heard of them here, but they are a preferred vendor for FLT and recommended by both FLT and Performabuilt

Same here, and not just any builder, a well respected and trusted builder with a good reputation such as Frank/Performabuilt

Swapped to a Circle D and it feels stock and normal driving and is getting me 17mpg. Once you get into the throttle to really go it stalls up where you want it.
That's like savin 10% on fuel. What u save on fuel, you'll spend on tires!

Makes me want to try it for that reason alone. So if I add a hard tonneau, I should save 10% more, says manfacturer. Gettin ~16mpg now. If I could get that from each, I'd be at 19.2. That'd be awesome if it happened to be spot on.

FLT too?!? This company is soundin better all the time.

One important thing I find very important with the Circle D besides great street manners, and perform great at the track. The trans temperature is so much lower than with my other converters I have tried.

Did u get a lower tranny temp. just by a convertor change? Or did you do a tranny cooler at the same time( which would skew the temperature) ?

Just a converter change and runs about 25 degrees cooler around town on the interstate.

I'm thinking of going with the 258mm converter with a 3500 stall speed (max for that size). It seems like everyone who goes around 3000-3200 ends up going bigger. And with the great street manners (tight) people talk of I think I shouldn't worry about going that big.

They have been over on tech for a little while and some of the RGV guys are running them. Blue cajun posted a 12.48 in perfect weather on the yank and a12.41 on the Circle D with a 15mph headwind.
