Picked up a 4l80e. 125 BUCKS!

Do you think it will hold up to my power and weight without even a shift kit? I am expecting about 500rwhp and my Tahoe weighs 5500lb.
Thanks ! I do not know what all years will work, but I think its a whole lot of them. I know a guy with a 97 one in a 04 silverado, that is the only reason I knew i would be fine with one from a 97.
Theres lots of people on here that just have shift kits in their stock 80e's and they are holding 700-800 hp. Most built 60e's are just a ticking bomb at that hp level.

Another question I have been trying to figure out is. Everyone modifies their cross member to move the trans mount about 6 inches back. But has anyone tried getting a cross member out of truck that already came with the 4l80. And will it work in a rcsb?

but at the same time, part of me says go ahead & rebuild it because if you don't, it's gonna take a crap at the worst possible time.
BTW, if you find any more of these jewels, throw us dogs a bone & post up a link.
