I have the 5.3 and it has the long *** alum/ shaft.
Can you tell me if your crossmember is built into the frame.
Do you think you could post up some pics of the set up?
It would help us out to try and find a fix for this.

It has a removable crossmember. I'll see what I can do about pics. Nonnie is a good guy, he posts here "Nonnieselmen". Haven't seen him around lately though.

Man that would help out big time if you can get some pics so that we can see what the location of it is and if it has the same frame.
If so then I can order the parts but may need a vin # so the parts guy can look up them up.

Replaced my trans mount yesterday. Overall loaded squish was just over a 1/8" more then new. I also increased to a 4* shim shimming the pinion down about 3.5*

Total measurements, transmission down 5* shaft is down 4.5* and pinion is down 3.5*

all numbers are approx you can only get a somewhat close reading with a manual angle finder, i think i might need a digital haha.

No vibration to 90, then minor vibration up to 110 i dont go any faster for traffic usually.

on decel i get a vibration, but i can understand that when the driveline gets unloaded.

Next im going to shim the transmission up to maybe 3ish*

Your working angle between the trans and driveline is 0.5* and the working angle between the driveline and pinion is 8*. If you shim your trans to around 3* it will help get the working angle close to around 2-3*, but will increasethe working angle between the driveline and pinion. You might have to go back to a smaller shim for the rearend. I'd try shimming the trans first. I had to deal with this with my truck, and it took a few tries. Hope this helps.
