Default Planning a Tune up....Fluids, Which to use.

I just bought my truck about a month ago. 00 Gmc Z71 ext cap. 120K

Its a nice truck for the money, a few dents and scratches, Im going to put it in the body shop next month and get them all fix and new paint as well.

However, I know it needs a tune up, when it comes to fluids... which to use?

I have Royal purple in my Z28, but I need to know which to put in the Z71... Rear end, Tranny, Transfer case, and so on..

any help is appreciated.

thanks

You can use any brand of fluid in your truck except the transfer case. The following is what I use in my truck.

T-case: Autotrac transfer case fluid purchased from the dealer only
tranny: Mobile 1 synthetic ATF (dextron III)
engine: Mobile 1 of 5w30 (synethic recommend)
front diff: Mobile 1 75-90 synthetic fluid (other might say different)
rear diff: Mobile 1 75-90 synthetic fluid

Cool

Rear Differential - I have the G80 so I use GM 75w90 synthetic. Any good 75W90 synthetic will probably do.
Front Differential - Amsoil 80w90 synthetic.I am not sure how 75W90 synthetic will work in this application.
Engine - Amsoil 2000 0W30 synthetic.
Transmission - GM ATF Dexron III. I heard that synthetic Dexron III might be too slippery for this application but I am not too sure that this is true if you are running near stock HP & TQ.
Transfer Case - I have the Auto 4x4 so I use the GM Auto-Trak II fluid otherwise use Dexron III.
