Default Please confirm best shock for 2/3 MacGauheys on 2002 Yukon SLE

Ok, have gone through like 200 pages on the search function, and the consensus seems to be that Doetsch-tech shocks would be my best bet for a better ride on my lowered (2/3 MacGauheys) 2002 Yukon.

I ride on 22's, and have been told that the 22's are the major culprit, and that I would not gain much with replacement shocks over the stock ones.

The search also seemed to indicate that Macssprings.com was the place to find the right size and order.

So is this about right? Tired of getting jolted by manhole covers.

Thanks

D

note - this is my daily driver Yukon. The wife gets to pilot the Blown DenaliXL with the cushy rider as it is too big for my parkade at work

Am I in the wrong forum with this question or something?

I have run Edelbrocks on my Jeeps in the past and was quite happy with them. So now a silly question - do I need to buy shorter shocks due to the lowering or the same size as if the vehicle was stock height? I seem to recall from my search someone saying that because the MacGauheys were spindles, that the shock height did not change.

Thanks for the info - much appreciated

You are right the the front shock length will not change. The rear will however.

The rear shocks on my Tahoe are stock length with a dropped mount and the fronts are stock length using drop spindles.

Pardon my ignorance, but would my MacGauheys kit also have included a "dropped mount" in the rear? In other words, is the "dropped mount" a function of the drop kit that was installed or is this a mod that you did on your own?

Long story short, do I need stock or a shorter shock on the rear with a MacGauhey's 2/3 drop? I think you both are in agreement that a stock length will work for the front.

On second thought, my stock shocks are still on, so maybe that in itself answers my question. Or maybe that is why the ride is so brutal. Hmmmn.

Thanks

Either Belltech nitro-active shocks or KYB's!
