I know of people that dragrace with them without problems. The powertrax unit itself is stronger than the axles / differential case, so as stated above you'll blow the case first, but it depends on how much power you are putting through it, and you would have broke something else either way.

All I know is that the majority off the "drag racers" use the Eaton or Auburn. DO you have a open diff now? If so and you just wanting to off road a little put a g80 in.

The main reason the Powertrax is so popular is that it is super easy to install. No backlash to set or carrier bearing to torque or preload. You can only use teh powertrax with an open case, there are some applications for limited slip cases though. If I had a factory limited slip I would not go powertrax. But if I was going to change anything, I wouldnt use a G80.
