I like mine, Had it for around a year. No problems but if you get on it around a corner it will squeel the inside tire. Once and a while it will kick in the antilock when I am turning sharp and applying the brakes (as in pulling into a parking spot) but I really like it.
Very easy to install, Took like an hout and I was really taking my time. By the way my truck is a 00 GMC Ex-Cab lowered 2/4 with 255/55/48's all around with 3:73's

They are pretty easy to install and come w/ very detailed instructions w/ illustrations. Had mine about a year also. Basically you are just replacing the spider gears and thrust washers w/ it. I got mine from rocky road outfitters for about 380 shipped if I remember correctly...Zed

Pull the cover, Take off the brake calipers, pull the center pin to release the c-clips wich in turn release the axles and take out the spiders. Replace with powertraxx and put it back together. Very simple and there are very good instructions with it.

I don't think it will work, there is one for the 8.6
I had to special order mine, the dealer I used didn't stock them. I paid $360 shipped, pm or email me for info on him.
I'll be installing it this afternoon and I plan on doing a write up on the install

installed as planned. I no longer plan to do a "how to" as the instructions seem very good with pics and everything. one thing to note - I was unable to "test" the install as the instructions said to. I decided to chance it and put the truck back together and on the first two turns (slowly) I heard a bang. After that the powertrax would make a loud click as it locked and unlocked for turns, the click seems to be getting more quite the more I drive it. They advise in the instructions that it will get quieter after ~50 miles, I have about 20 miles on it now.
I put the truck on grass (didn't want to abuse the powertrax until the full 50 miles) to spin the tires and see what I was working with and sure enough it is locking properly, around turns there is no binding which indicates it is unlocking. I noticed it's quick to lock when pulling out into traffic, spinning the inside wheel. This will take some getting used to, but it's the nature of the beast as this is a torque activated locking device.
