Priced 4/6 drop kits today!!! Need help!!!

Default Priced 4/6 drop kits today!!! Need help!!!

I priced the drop kits at a shop here. I asked about both the DJM 4/6 kit and the BELLTECH 4/6 kit. The DJM kit was $600.00 bucks and the BELLTECH kit was $900.00. I think both included drop shocks. Still, i was very surprised at how high the prices were. How hard are the kits to install? At those prices, i would rather tackle the task myself to save from labor charges. lol. They also offered a 5/6 BELLTECH and a 5/7 DJM i believe. They suggested to stay away from DJM and said BELLTECH was the best. I want to go as low as possible but still clear 20x8.5 inch rims and probably 255-275/35-40/20 tires. Let me know any suggestions you have or what kit you would go with. How low can i go? Oh yea, its going on a 2001 RCSB stepside silverado w/ a 5.3!!

Just buy the drop kit and have a shop do the labor on the c-notch. If you know someone that can weld and has a welder, then ask that person if they could install the c-notch for you. After that is done, install the rest of the drop yourself or with some buddies.

I hear the Belltech c-notch is made a lot better than the djm c-notch.

THey are both good kits. The price doesn't seem all that out of line. These kits come with new lower control arms or drop spindles? Keep in mind that "Belltech" is a little better, but most of the $300 price difference is the name.

incorrect. most people think it's a better notch because it looks stronger. it is, in fact, over-designed for the application....just in the wrong areas of the design. and personally, i'm not going to put anything ony my truck that is engineered that sloppy.

You might want to take a look at the McGaughys Kit on their website. Their spindles for 17" or larger wheels are supposed to be the best on the NBS but I have also heard that Belltech have improved their spindles but not sure.

BellTech is NOT better than DJM on the NBS trucks. I'd probably go with McGaughy's personally.

DJM for $420

See, i have heard alot say belltech is better and alot say DJM is better. I dont know much about either so that makes it a hard choice on who is actually right. lol. I was looking into the mcgaughys kit but since they are a new company, i am kinda scared to try them. Would you guys use control arms, spindles or drop springs? I have been told to stay away from springs as much as i can. Could i go with a 5/7 and fit 20's on it?
