Are you sure you lost forth gear or did you loose the lockup on the TC, and then the TC finally died taking the rest of the tranny with it? I know when my tranny is cold the TC does not lock up and it seems like it is in 3rd gear... Just a thought.

well i thought about the TC, i dont think its the lockup because it doesnt even stall up like it wants to shift into 4th is just never got higher thatn 3rd.and everything has been running fine and then suddenly not, except for at the track and i cant get into 3rd a WOT. the tranny fluid was alittle burnt, so the transmision is under warantee but the guy was just going to swap it out for the same one but a new... but he got it to drive he said so hes going to replace the filter and see how it does. im just having a hard time seeing it drive after it stopped driving...

It happens alot, something goes out and sends metal/clutch debri through the whole thing. Which clogs the filter and will eventually not go into gear. If it sits for awhile, the filter will unclog, and will be drivable for awhile. Changing the filter isn't going to do anything.
