Default Procharged 4.8l with a 5spd! Will it hold???

Im in the process of getting a D1SC procharger kit and I already have the RST "bolt-ons" (Headers, msd coils/wires, k&n intake, etc.). Im looking to get about 450 rwhp if not more. how much power does the stock 5spd hold up to? Its my DD so I dont want to tear everything up right after install lol.

Thanks in advance!

i would go for a t 56 swap. the nv3500 is hardly rated to handle stock torque. never heard of one breaking tho. i've only got 300 rwhp and i get scared every time i bang gears. its like guys pushing a stock 4l60, it'll only last so long.

I'm guessing as long as you don't put slicks on your truck and don't poweshift, it will last long enough to save for a T56. It might last longer.

04Gibbs or something like that ran quite a bit of power through his 5 speed. I think its a fairly decent tranny with a few tweaks but I've heard its not much for power shifting, as in its hard to shift.

Why are we procharging if we are for sale..... I too heard it was hard to shift, IIRC its hard to cathc 3rd gear, its either hit or miss.

Truck may be coming off of the market. Just not enough demand in this market..

go for it. i'd like to see what it can handle. if it breaks, do the t 56 swap. i run mine hard and its doing fine, w/ stock clutch. you'd be a lot faster w/ t 56 too. these nv3500's are a bitch to shift.

the 5-spd behind my 95% stock 4.8 is just about toast. Synco's shot, making noise in certain gears, etc... So much so that right now it is parked while I finish up getting the funds for the t56 swap. It just doesn't like high-rpm shifting. I know its a truck tranny and all, but the NV3500 in the old '93 GMC 1500 that I had never gave me this much issue. It was behind a v6 though...
