Default Questions on uograding from a 5.3L 4l60e to a 6.0 with 4l80e

So my 4l60e transmission has had it, after some thinking, started leaning towards not just fixing, but upgrading. I read some posts but I need to make sure this will be a cost-worthy thing for me though. So, pulling the old heart out and putting in a 6.0 with a 4l80e... what other modifications will be necessary other than electrical? Can I use the same aluminum drive shaft, rear differential and transfer case? I don't want to have any nasty surprises...

on a 99-07 you can swap it in relatively easy... i did it.... motor first then trans later

the engine (longblock) is a direct swap....

-the trans is mor involved you will need

transmission...
flexplate/spacer/converter
get the yoke for the 80e
conversion U joint
Drive shaft should be fine if its a 2pc, a 1pc may need to be shortened
you will need to modify your crossmember - most cut the center section out and move it 6.25-6.5 inches back
you will need to do a 80e segment swap in the computer and custom tune
you will need to do some repinning of the plug and run some new wires for the input speed sensor... (or you can buy this for speartech)
80e dispstick

i paid 750 for and 80e and the whole trans swap may have cost me 2K but i chose to buy a 1000 yank converter though

so with the stock one it shouldnt be too bad... def less than a built trans

i may have missed a couple little bits but that will def get you started.. search 80e swap and they may be some more answers out there...

Ok, thanks for the reply, this is exactly the info I was looking for... I have some thinking and researching to do. Some guy's is offering me the engine and tranny off of a rear-ended vehicle. Under 60 000miles for 2 grand. I also have to look for a tuning program which will do the job.
