Rancho RSX Shocks

Rancho RSX Shocks
Saw these on closeout at summit and figured I pick up a set of 4 since they wer eonly $20 a piece and got good reviews. I got them 3 days later, and once I started to work on the front realized I had the wrong front shocks. They only listed one part # for my truck, but I failed to read the fine print saying it was for the crew cab model with torsion front end. Since it would cost me almost as much to send them back as it did to buy them, I decided to make them work. I cut the lower mounts off of my stock shocks, cut the lower mounting tabs on the ranchos, welded in a cross plate, and welded the stock lower mount to the cross piece. The hardest part was keeping everything cool. I used a wet rag and cooling bucket. The rancho shock never got hot, but the rubber bushing of the stock mount got hot, but still seems to be okay. Other than having to modify the lower front mounts, the shocks are great. I drove it today, and it is worlds better than the stock shocks. Handles better, doesnt dive, doesnt oscilate like it used to, and soaks up chop way better. Overall I am very happy with the shocks. Other than the shocks, the truck has a hotchkis rear swaybar, stock ride height. Handles very nice for a truck. Does anyone see a problem with how I made the fronts work? Thanks for reading and here are a few pictures I took along the way.
