Aside from making sure the TC is seated properly, is there anything else I have to worry about?
This is almost a blessing in disguise. I was going to install a shift kit and vette servos. Everything I have read said these installs are much easier with the trans out.

Things you may run into.
Torqe converter bolts - Some have not been able to get them out. Depending on the style. If you have the style that is either hex or allen I recommend use the hex to get them out.
Tranny won't seperate from engine - I had to tie a come along to the tailshaft of mine to get it broken loose.
Getting the gear selector module unplugged - GM uses some damn tough sealant in this thing. If the connector doesn't come un plugged easily I recommend just removing the whole module.
Getting to the top tranny bolt - Drop the rear of the tranny and a 3ft extension with impact swivels worked for me.
Dip stick tube - Don't try and remove it all the way. Just get it out and tuck it out of the way. Watch the gasket on the end of it. Watch its orientation when you go back in.

One thing everyone did not mention is the mess. I have done several on my mustang, basically same prinicple. Transmission fluid will get EVERYWHERE, well at least it did in my situation. Make sure you have a ton of rags and some clothes you don't mind being permanetly stained redish/pink.

If you can do a shift kit then this should be a walk in the park, IMO a shift kit is 10 times harder.

Sweet. Thanks gentlemen, as long as this goes as well as planned, you have saved me quite a bit of money.
If it blows up in my face - it will at least save me a bit in gas money since I'll be walking everywhere. Maybe even enough to buy a new trans and have it professionally installed.
