Yah I see what your saying. Ima try the Cal's first. Ive just read about alot of stock cars+trucks dropping 60ft times with a built rear suspension. And np say what you gotta say. I dont get butt hurt like some people when they get told a diff way.

At very least I would like to change the shock locations to behind the axle. Are the QA-1's a good shock or is there better.

4link

Think that 4 link and the QA1 setup should workout ok.
I looked at that setup, and I don't think it's really what you're looking for. That is a setup for a street-driven airbag truck. A racing 4-link will have far more adjustability designed into it. Usually, several mounting location options for each link(to dial in instant-center), and more easily adjustable links(for pinion angle, etc.) Also, the links should be chromoly(not sure if this kit is or isn't, but it wasn't advertised, to I'm assuming it isn't). I haven't ever seen(yet) a racing inspired 4-link kit for our trucks, but then again, I'm thousands of miles away from civilization.

I really think you'd be better off with Cal-tracs, and figuring out which shocks respond best to your setup, to get you off the line quicker. Relocating both shocks to the rear of the axle like you talked about shouldn't be too difficult for you if you have a little fabricating skills. The factory does is it on front and rear to control axle wrap in both directions, they don't factor in drag racing.

Sounds like a solid plan. Remounting your shocks isn't a bad idea to try. Post up your results!
