Most just swap the g-80 carrier for a eaton or truetrax unit. The cost is about 400-500 bucks for the carrier and about another 100 bucks for the gaskets, seals, bearings, and oil needed to do the swap.

awesome stuff.. thanks..
the chances of the g80 exploding vs locking up and taking out other **** (transmission) are how likely?
I'm already getting a built transmission.. what are the chances of my g80 locking up and taking the new one out? I don't plan on putting down more then 3-350rwhp/tq..

what are the stock gear ratio's for these things?
And I'm a bit confused.. After the past several days of searching... Eaton Makes Detroit Tru-Trac? I thought Detroit made it...
ALso.. what is this.. My buddy has a 240SX (I beleive it was the S13 bodystyle) anyway whenever he made a turn which ever the inside tire was would sorta skip.. The Tru-Trac would not have this problem correct?

If you have
GU5 you have 3.23
GU6 you have 3.42
GT4 you have 3.73
GT5 you have 4.10
Neather one (eaton or auburn detriot) should make the inside tire scip. that shounds like a spool, or a limited splid diff that is not work correctlly

Eaton owns Detroit so they are made by Eaton. Detroit True Trac is a great unit, then again so is the Eaton LSD. I would recomend getting the one that you can find a better deal on because you cant go wrong with either one.
