most here are going to say Detroit TruTrac or an Eaton clutch-type diff. There's tons of info with the search function, as each function differently and have different characteristics depending on proposed usage.

I have an auburn unit in mine and am extremely happy with it! I am 8.5" 10 bolt in a regular cab short bed. You may have a 14 bolt, not sure if they make one for that or not....I never have checked....good luck

Nah mine is for sure a 10 bolt...Everything i've looked at so far seems to be telling me that Detriot Truetrac would be the best. Everyone agree?

I have an Eaton posi and I like it, but if I were to get one now I'd lean towards the truetrac. They're both good. If you off-road your truck you might like the true trac. I've heard somewhere that they can get you traction even if one wheel is in the air, something about applying brakes and giving it gas to get the truetrac to act like a locker. If you do a search, you'll probably find it.

I used to have an Auburn pro in a 5.0 mustang, and I like that one alot, the only downside is when they wear out the case is not rebuildable. They do have some warranty, though.
