Default rear end help, should i weld it?

before i get bashed for even asking. please read why im asking

i pulled my rear diff cover today just to check it out
its a 14 bolt SF, the magnet was caked in a metal 'dust' and you could see it in the fluid. the ring and pinon look good, but the spider gears, look ok, but have alot of slack in them, the 2 gears on the 'bull pin', i can move them up and down a good bit.

i tried pulling that pin out, and i couldnt, hell the bolt that holds it in place is bent to hell, i had to grind it a little to get it to screw back in.

so my question is, for a temperay fix, can i weld the spider gears together? i cant afford for the rear end to lock up AGIN and take my tranny out AGIN

would i be able to pull the axles out to change the carrior when the time comes? thanks yall

I welded one on an offroad truck one time, it was fine for offroad, but it didnt last long driving it on blacktop.LOL Most of the time the magnets have a bunch of crap on them.

well you said you pulled the cover to just "check it out".....so put it back together and drive it till you have the cash to fix it right. if it worked before it should work again.

well when the spiders or weld break, your going to have $500 you dont have right now into new gears and lsd. at least thats the way i look at it..
like mentioned before if you drive this truck at all as a dd or on the street i wouldnt do it, welding them is only for cheap offroad stuff imo.. save your pennies and do it the right way once.
