I used jegs pn: P4120074 for the spring perch on my truck. If you cut the original perch off the axle you can reuse the stock u bolts and spring plate by just flipping them over. If you leave the original perch on the axle like I did you will need new U bolts and will have to make a new spring plate like I did:

IIRC I moved the center hole back ~3/4" to center up the wheels in the wheel wells.

Yea it those aren't welded then they'd be 10x worse than a flip kit. The flip kit saddles are basically a perch except they fit inside the upper spring perch preventing the axle from rotating circularly.

no they were not welded in that picture.. I was in the process of setting it up and getting the pinion angle perfected. They are now and have been fine for the last 33k miles

Thanks Zach, I knew someone had to do it before. How hard was it to remove the center pin? I know they just bolt-in but I never dissasemble one before.

And JB I am trying to have a few as possable parts on my truck that could go wrong. I know faster trucks then I will probily ever have run them, but somehow my inner German doesn't like it.

I have problems with unbreakable stuff before, and now I do it my way. Overbuilt just seems better.

center pin is very easy to remove (and flip upside down). If you take some C-clamps and clamp the leaf springs down on either side of the spring perch they will hold the leaf pack together and keep the hole lined up while you flip the pin. The pin is threaded like a bolt on one end and has a smooth round head on the other to locate the axle. Take some vise grips or pliers and hold the smooth end and just take the nut off the other with a socket.

Ground Force Spindles, and Bell Drop Struts maybe 1 inch drop springs.

Still deciding on how low though. 4/6 or 5/7 when I commit I'll buy parts

Welding on spring perches for lifting or lowering vehicles is not new, and if done correctly(pinion angle & quality welding) is stronger and better than a bolt-on flip kit. The bolt-on kits came about for ease of installation, so fabrication skills are not required.

Quick Reply: Rear-flip kits.
