rear suspension
got a 00' RCSB 2wd 1/2 ton . got the DJM rear flip but do not like the quality of the parts and am considering the options, thought about going with a leaf/ hanger drop but heard some negative opinions about the belltech springs. mcgaughty has some too but i dont know any thing about them. or should i just buy a different manufacturer flip kit?

could not agree more TX. mcaughty has one for like 90 bucks at stylin trucks. 1 question though, on the pass. spring when there is no wieght and the axle is off of it the leafs are loose. they little clamp that holds the leafs together has a worn bushing in there allowing the play. should i get another leaf?

i guess what i am asking is it best to stay with a conventional non-flip rear suspension with lowering leafs and shackles or are the flip set ups as strong? at any rate lesson learned with cheap lowering kits!

i ran lowering leafs and shackles and i loved the way the truck handles and drove... a little stiff but i loved it.... make sure you get some good shocks that are for your correct drop..

Any form of drop using the stock leafs should not degrade ride quality, given you keep it off the bump stops, have the pinion angle in check, and relocate the shocks to take the angle back out of it. Nothing to it! lol!
Any form of drop in the rear is going to negatively impact at least one of the issues mentioned above and if not addressed, ride quality will suffer.
