Rebuild or replace rear end. Please help!
My grenade 80 blew up and broke my new ring and pinion and self destructed itself. Mechanic recommended a 12 bolt but the least I have seen them for is $1900 for a moser. Will a new eaton lsd, gears, and rebuild kit last a long while or should I just wait and get a bigger and stronger rear.

With a good LSD, and a good set of gears, it will hold up to a good bit of power. The G-80 was probably the culprit of your failure so don't let that keep you from building a stout 10-bolt. I would do just like you suggested and get the eaton, maybe a set of Motive gears (which they have 4.30's now for the 10 bolt) and a good install kit. You'll be fine.

Should be good with a reputeable set of gears and good LSD. I would go with a trutrac because it doesnt have clutch material that wears out over time like the Eaton.

a stock 12 bolt is not much, if any stronger than a truck 10 bolt. I'd agree with the others, build your 10 bolt rather than buy a built 12. If you are gonna replace it, I'd personally go with a 9.5" 14sf.
