removing rear blocks on Z71 well sort of (pics)
i know someone has done this before but i cant remember there name. anyways i saved myself the money on buying 2wd U-bolts. by putting the blocks on top of the leaf springs. everything looks good right now in the rear, but the front i need to tighten the keys because i loosened it to much. its riding on the bump stops.
what would happen if i don't trim the bump stops, and just let the frount end ride on them?

you should just have a shitty ride with the truck on the bumpstops. and get some shorter u-bolts there not a ton of money. reason being a u-bolt is a torque to yield fastener and should only be torqued down once and then replaced.

Ladies man, I like what you did! At least it will tell you if its something that you want to stay with before you buy any new u-bolts.
I've been thinkibng about going the oppostie way for traction reasons and handling as well.
Right now I have my torsion bars cranked up to level it out, now I've been contemplating going lower. I don't want a LOW RIDER truck but a little lower and level may be better than high and level.
I really don't do much off roading, mainly bought a 4x4 for towing a boat and dealing with the snow in the winter, so ground clearance is not an issue.
How does it ride now? Did you trim the bump stops yet?

when i bought my truck it was to lift it. but after mudding it a couple of times i decided that i didn't spend all this money to scratch and beat the hell out of my truck. my truck well never see mud or any type of off roading again, other then the sand dunes if i have to.
i trimed the bumpstops yesterday and it still rides great, im going to get an alignment today.

I removed my factory lift blocks from the rear and used the 2WD u-bolts in place of the longer factory ones. The ride got better and the truck was easier to corner IMO. I wouldnt mess around with any other suspension components.
