Ridetech Coil-overs Installed gmt-800
#221
Got my Ridetech coilovers and control arms installed this past weekend. What an incredible difference. Previously I had Mcgaughys spindles and stock springs (passenger side spring trimmed) with Bilstein HD shocks. The ride quality is amazing....much smoother ride with much better control. I've got the shocks set at 12 clicks right now for the rebound. Getting it aligned tomorrow then I may play with the adjustment of the shocks. I've included a few pics as well.

I forgot to weigh the arms before I put them on. The uppers felt close to the same weight...but the new lowers were definitely lighter. If I had to guess I'd say 10 lbs lighter per side...maybe more. The biggest weight difference was in the the spring/shock combo vs the coilover. The factory spring and shock together weighed 20.5 lbs...the coilover with spring weighed 6.5 lbs.
I just got my truck aligned today and was able to push it much harder. Man what a difference. Although the setup was a little pricey it was worth every penny. The ride quality, steering feel, and handling are all vastly improved. Now I cant wait to finish up the 4 link for the rear!

Add me to the club
4.1 stroke 10 inch 850lb spring, rides so much better. Still hits some bumps hard but trucks really aren't mean to be this low so it is what it is
This isn't what it sits at, just took pictures of the initial install. Theres like 5 or 6 threads left on each side
How it sits...hasn't settled.

ok so im about to go ahead and order a set of these coilovers since everyonone on here is hyping them up lol.. but i have a 2006 rcsb v8 truck just looking for 3" drop in the front and i already have 2" belltech spindles so would i be better off going with the 4.1s or the 5.2s? during the winter im doing a 4l80e swap and more towards the spring or summer turbo. would i be better off going ahead and getting an 800# or 850# spring or stick with everyone else and got 700# or 750#?

I think the 5.2" sounds about right for your goal, but just to be sure you should measure where you are at right now, I don't know the stock measurement and can't give you a solid answer, you might even be able to run the 6.3"s
For an rcsb I think 800# springs are the norm.
