Spring rate depends a lot on what shock you are using and what kind of ride you are looking for.

I know you guys are talking about a spring for the street but Holy crap, I'm gonna try a 400 lb spring on the front of mine if I can ever get it back together. Also have a set of 350's if those are too heavy.

900 -1300 lb springs! Does that make the ride super ******* tooth rattling stiff?

Its definitely on the firm side, but not as bad as you think. I think the trucks really need it to combat body roll in the corners.
It also depends on the length of the spring and how much travel you have/want, like right now I'm running a 14"x 650# spring and the ride is similar to the 10"x900# I had before.

If a shock only has 2.5" of total travel and needs to support 1500lb, you do the math

Anyone have any idea what the rating is on the typical drop springs you may find in a Belltech kit? or even the stock springs?

It would be cool if we could get a spreadsheet going of all the available stock and stock type replacements to use a reference.

I have a list of ones that work for my coilover kits on 4wds in the spreadsheet I made
Plug in what your corner weight is and what the shock mounting distance is and it spits out exactly what shock and spring you need and where that shock will sit in its travel.

So I have been hesitant to pull the trigger on ordering my coilovers. I have a 2wd drive extended cab and it's just a daily driver mostly. The 4.1 coilover will work perfect to achieve the 3" drop I'm after but I'm still tossing around which spring to order. 800 or 850? Just want to make sure to get it right I don't have the money to keep trying different springs. Is 800 too soft? Or is it good for daily? I've Re read this entire thread over and over and keep going back and forth. Input for a decision would be appreciated. Thanks guys

I have a 2005 rcsb with a 4.8....I'm running 10" x 650lbs springs. They are great for a street setup; decent handling (with aftermarket sway bars) and they ride great. I may get a set of 700# or 750# to try if I lower it more....anything more than that for a regular cab seems pretty stiff. The ridetech lower control arm coilover mount is a little bit closer to the wheel if I remember correctly so that also makes a difference when selecting spring rates.

For reference I have a set of 2" Hotchkis coils for my truck and they are rated at 900lbs/inch.

I have a 2001 extended cab with a 4.8 I'm only looking for 3" of drop since that's where I sit right now. I'll be using stock lower arms but I do have ride tech upper arms. Is 800 a safe medium for street use? Or should I go lighter? Just don't want to have to buy multiple springs don't have the coin for that
