How to find out ring gear size and number of splines without pulling cover off on a 2005 chevy silverado 1500.I have 3.23 gears and am going to change them to 3.73 or 4.10 but I only want to pull the cover once, can someone help me out.

 

10 bolt
8.5/8.6 ring gear
30 spline axles

 

do the 4.10s. unless you drive highway all the time.

 

do the 4.10's anyways. i had 4.10's in my last truck and 3.73's in the new and there is absolutely no difference on the highway

 

why not 4.30's and a truetrac?
