thx v8... were about to start the build tomorrow. It turns out that it broke at the top of the input shaft... and than as we started to take it out, the case was broken all around where the output shaft comes out of the tail.. it was a mess.
Actually im looking at 1600 now for a core replacement (which he didnt charge me for)and rebuild...hes putting a new stall in which he reduced the price for... the 1600 dollars is for assembley and installation... we are doing alot of performance upgrades and tightening up the transmission itself... basically were looking for it to have the performance of a vette transmission with the toughness i'm going to need.
I'll have a list of everything we ended up doing at the end of next week.. but probably all togetther it going to run 2 grand or more... 1600 for installation and assembly and core, some of that price includes parts... 350 for a custom converter machined and assembled by a local race shop... and than small charges for extra parts that we havent considered yet.
I think i am going to leave the truck as it is now. Maybe upgrade to a locker rear end, finish up the exhaust work and than go for suspension.. but on this motor im pretty much done. By this time next year im probably going to start the work on a new motor
